As a little project to do with Théo, Rachel found this awesome idea on Pinterest! She made some green balls with baking soda, water and food colorant, adding a penny in each of them before letting them dry overnight to become solid.
So this morning, as Théo was enjoying some green pancakes (of course) and another episode of "Little Einsteins" with Grandpa, we went in the backyard and dispersed the green little treasures.
We just had to tell Théo that the Leprechaun was in the backyard this morning and that he might have dropped some green rocks that contain a treasure. He was so excited that he went right away outside ready for his hunt.
He was so intrigued when he dumped the rocks into a bowl of white distilled vinegar and the bubbles made by the baking soda. When he realized that they each enclosed a penny (or even half a euro - wow ho!) he was so happy.
It was such a great idea! What would we have done without Pinterest!!!!
