Newport | Rhode Island

In the need of a little break from our work and our daily routine, we escaped to Newport, leaving Théo at Grandpa and Nany (knowing that he will enjoyed being spoiled for three days).
Arrived at our destination, the Perry-La-Farge B&B, our first day was mainly about exploring the town to find out what we will be doing (and eating!) the next couple of days.
Back to the B&B for the traditional tea time, we enjoy our very traditional card game "belote" that comes with us everywhere we go. Our first dinner evening was spent at "Tallulah on Thames", modern and sophisticated cuisine, not to be missed if you go to Newport. In addition to the amazing dinner, we were told exactly what we had on our plate at each dish we were getting so we almost felt like the camera's from Top Chef were around! Overall a great experience.

The second day started with a great breakfast made by our host of the B&B with which I drank another cup of my new favorite tea: wild sweet orange from Tazo.
Program of the day: the cliff walk and visit of The Breakers mansion, summer home of the Vanderbilt at the end of the 19th century.

Monday, we went to visit a second mansion: The Elms. (we would recommend to buy a ticket for 2 mansions as we did that allowed us to visit The Breakers + any of the other mansions for only 5 extra dollars instead of paying $24 for each visit).
We drove along Ocean Drive (until the road was closed for constructions of course!) before coming back in town for a last bite at  "La Maison de Coco", café specialized in tea infused hot chocolate and amazing crêpes. And there was the end of three relaxing days as we hit the road back home, anxious to get back to our awesome little dude Théo.

Looking forward to our next time in Newport...'cause we'll definitely come back!

Definitely Michelle! I would go back there in a minute and wow, I would definitely go back to the same B&B, same room - The master suite is actually not very expensive during the off season and was almost as big as our apartment in Summit. Best thing I guess would be to go the first/last days of the off season so you will still maybe enjoy some warmish weather :)
- Happy Easter!
