Halloween has already started here with a few festivities that happened last week and over the weekend in town: Pumpkin Carving Contest on Saturday, and a Halloween Parade for little kids, older kids, families or anyone who wanted to spend a crisp but beautiful afternoon outside.
Actually, it all started for us on Friday night as we had to head to the store to get Théo's pumpkin to carve since he was the one entering the contest. So that night was craft night at home:
The contest then took place on Saturday night where we took a little walk on a path in a local park to admire everyone's work. Here is a sample of some of the other contestants...
So the level of skill was a little higher than what we did with ours, but we had fun working on this project and were proud of Théo's work since he actually did everything by himself...except the mouth that I had to carve for him! And he was very happy to show his art to his friend Ava who was also there for the stroll.
Sunday, as scheduled, we went to the Halloween parade in town, lead by a firetruck from the town. Among several choices of costumes, Théo wanted to wear his pirate one that his Nany made for him.
And so, with another beautiful day ahead of us, we went on, marching in the streets of Cranford with some friends who were actually there as well. Théo was happy to see that Ava was there again too!
