This
year we won't go anywhere for a long vacation so we wanted to go for an
extended weekend to relax and enjoy ourselves a little bit...leaving
Théo at Grandpa and Nany's house. It was also for me the occasion to
forget work and stress for a few days.
So we left Théo for five full days in New Jersey and headed to our destination of choice: Chicago.
We
got there early afternoon and with our empty stomachs since breakfast
we couldn't begin our Chicago trip without having a "deep-dish" pizza as
our first lunch. We went to the iconic "Pizza Due" where we had to wait
nearly 45 minutes before getting our dish but the wait was worthwhile!
We
continued this first day at Millenium Park and went to check "The
Bean", this strange sculpture that reflects the skyline of the city in a
funny way before sitting down at the end of the afternoon for a
classical music concert offered by the town (Stabat Matter by Rossini).
The rest of the weekend was a good mix of museums/monuments,
restaurants and long walks for a perfect getaway and we are already
thinking about the next time we will go again.
