Like every year for more than 10 years, Pat and Arlette hosted another Bastille Day at their place. Another good party where family and friends gathered and enjoyed French cuisine and French music. This year, my input was to make two cakes for dessert. I had some good feedback back in April when I made a strawberry "bavarois" and so I decided to make it again for this event. But I also wanted to make another one with pears. I've never made this one before and I was worried about the flavor and if we could taste the pear enough. Turned out that both were excellent, just like the party - and Théo was happy to meet a lot of his older cousins for the first time that day.

I wish we had leftovers - they were soooo good and so beautiful too! Good thing I know the chef quite well. Maybe he'll make them again sometime soon....
No one makes it better than you!!!! Delicious and absolutely beautiful - what one would expect to find in the best patisserie in Paris et le monde entier!!!. Merci Fab!
They were too pretty to cut but everyone was patiently waiting for their piece of the cake. They were not disappointed. It was delicious!!
